Terms of service.

By making any payment for services offered by Charta.me, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Proceeding with payment indicates that you have read, understood, and accepted all terms outlined below.

Rental Terms and Service Usage

  • Rental Period: Standard rental hours are 12 hours. Any time beyond the 12-hour period will incur additional charges based on the hourly rate.

  • Inspection Window: Customers are provided with a one-hour inspection window to check for any mechanical issues (e.g., faulty AC). If no report is made within this period, the vehicle will be deemed acceptable by the customer.

  • Fuel Policy:

    • For standard rentals, Charta.me provides 15 liters of fuel. The customer is responsible for refueling the vehicle if this fuel is exhausted during the trip.

    • For long-distance trips, Charta.me provides a full tank of fuel. Afterward, refueling is the customer’s responsibility.

    • A Fuel Purchase Requirement applies: SUVs require a minimum purchase of ₦10,000 worth of fuel, while Sedans require ₦5,000. This ensures proper vehicle performance.

  • Journey Extension: If you anticipate needing additional time beyond the initial booking period, you must request an extension and make the necessary payment before the end of the 12-hour period.

  • Driver Terms:

    • Drivers are permitted to leave once the booking period has expired, after providing notification to the customer via call or text message.

    • For rentals of three days or more, the driver may be replaced with another professional to ensure safety. Replacement drivers meet the same standards of professionalism.

  • Outskirts Charges: Rentals outside central city areas (e.g., Sangotedo, Badagry, Ikorodu, etc.) will incur additional charges.

  • Extended Journeys: A journey beyond Lagos is considered a full-day booking, with no extensions allowed once the vehicle returns to Lagos.

Cancellations and Refunds

  • Cancellation Policy:

    • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will result in a 50% forfeiture of the booking fee. The remaining amount can either be refunded or converted to credit for future bookings, with the refund process initiated within 24 hours.

    • Cancellations made after the vehicle has been dispatched, or within less than 24 hours of the scheduled booking, will not be refunded. Future bookings after such cancellations will attract additional charges.

  • Faulty Vehicle Refunds: Customers are entitled to a refund if the vehicle is found to be faulty. However, such issues must be reported within one hour of receiving the vehicle.

  • Cancellation Process: All cancellations must be formally submitted via WhatsApp or by contacting our customer support team by phone. If not properly communicated, the booking will proceed as scheduled.

Rescheduling Policy

  • Rescheduling within Reasonable Notice:

    • If you request to reschedule or change any details related to your reservation within reasonable time or due to extraneous circumstance prior to the engagement there is no charge, this is at the discretion of Charta.me review.

    • If we are able to accommodate your short-notice changed plans, we will do so and charge a rescheduling/change fee equal to the greater of either $45 or 20% of the quoted rate for your reservation.

    • If we are unable to accommodate your changed plans, your reservation will be considered a cancellation, subject to the cancellation rules & policies explained on This Page.

Additional Charges

  • Late Night & Early Morning Bookings: Rentals that occur between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM will incur additional fees for operational and service-related costs.

  • Extra Time Charges: Extra time fees vary based on vehicle type, with higher charges for luxury vehicles, bulletproof cars, buses, or vintage models.

  • Multiple Crossings: Journeys involving more than two crossings between Lagos Island and Mainland will incur additional charges.

  • End of Day Cutoff: All daily rentals end at 10:00 PM. Any use beyond this time will be charged for additional hours.

Airport Pick-Up and Drop-Off

  • Cancellation Window: No cancellations are allowed within one hour of the scheduled airport pick-up. No refund will be provided if the service is not utilized.

  • Single Trip Only: Each booking covers one pick-up and drop-off. Multiple airport trips within the same day are treated as separate bookings and will incur additional charges.

  • Service Window: Airport services include a four-hour window. Extensions beyond this time will incur additional fees for each extra hour.

  • Additional Fees: The customer is responsible for all airport tolls and parking fees incurred during the service.

  • Overtime: Services exceeding the four-hour limit will be charged additional overtime fees.

  • Non-Stop Travel: Airport services are designed for direct trips from pick-up to drop-off without unscheduled stops. Any extra stops will be treated as separate bookings and will be charged accordingly.

Lost Property

  • Any items left behind in the vehicle must be reported within 24 hours. Charta.me is not liable for any unreported items after this period.

Customer Responsibility for Disputes

  • Customers are responsible for any disputes, chargebacks, or transaction reversals. Charta.me reserves the right to deduct any reversed amounts from future bookings or payments.

Acceptance of Terms through Payment

By making any partial or full payment for an invoice issued by Charta.me, the customer automatically agrees to and accepts all Terms and Conditions outlined by Charta.me. This agreement becomes effective upon the successful processing of any payment, whether partial or full.

Such payment serves as the customer’s explicit acknowledgment and acceptance of all terms, including any liabilities or service terms detailed in this agreement. It is assumed that customers have read, understood, and consented to all terms before making any payment.

Customers are encouraged to contact Charta.me for clarifications or inquiries regarding these terms before completing any payment. Records of all payments, whether partial or full, will be maintained as evidence of the customer’s acceptance of these terms.
